Can Do Places

Can Do Places

Can Do Places is the new name for Can Do Towns reflecting more accurately the work the project delivers.

Can Do Places is funded by the Scottish Government through the Scotland CAN DO approach to Entrepreneurship & Innovation and delivers this collaborative, collective-impact method into the Town Centre Action Plan.
Can Do Places works with community groups, Development Trusts and Business Improvement Districts to create Can Do Spaces. A Can Do Space is usually a redundant town centre building which can provide a home for people to try out new business ideas, trade and make work together. The money created by these ventures circulates in the local economy. Thus the projection for the worth of the first Can Do Space in Falkirk, opened by Housing Minister Margaret Burgess in September, is over £1 million to the local economy.
More Can Do Spaces are expected to open in 2016 across Scotland.

The Scotland Can Do Innovation Challenge

The Scotland Can Do Innovation Challenge is open to people who are either already in a Development Trust Association or Business Improvement District or moving towards one who want to help open up the entrepreneurial opportunities
of our town centres.

Have you ever had an idea for your town centre that could help open up opportunities for new types of use?

Have you a desire to bring new life to places and spaces that you love?

Or would you and your group just like a push in the right direction?
