Make no mistake – cyber crime is an ever present and very real risk to businesses of all shapes and sizes in Scotland. Every day businesses throughout Scotland fall victim to cyber attacks or scams, which can cause significant disruption. The impacts can be considerable and long lasting, ranging from financial to loss of customer confidence.
This can make all of us think twice about going on line, never mind actually doing business on line. The good news is that there are simple steps that you can take to make a cyber attack less likely and make sure you get back to business as usual as quickly as possible. Preparing for an attack is also an important element; if you know what your business will do when a cyber attack happens, then you will be able to lessen the impact and recover quicker.
That’s why the Scottish Business Resilience Centre and Police Scotland have produced a new leaflet which aims to give small businesses useful tips and advice on how to stay safe, secure and resilient to the threat posed by cyber crime. The leaflet titled “Cyber Security For Small Business – What You Can Do To Keep Your Business Safe Secure and Resilient” can be downloaded below.
