‘Understanding the Threat’ Domestic Extremism Conference

‘Understanding the Threat’ Domestic Extremism Conference

Police Scotland in assistance with partners would like to formerly invite you to a Domestic Extremism conference, 'Understanding the Threat' that they have arranged for businesses and organisations.

Domestic extremism is used to distinguish individuals who are involved in campaigns or political groups where crime is a factor in the process of the campaign/protest and can lead to public disorder and disruption.  At various times in the recent past a range of groups that have fallen into this category include right and left-wing extremists, animal rights and environmental extremists.

Police Scotland aim to assist and support partners, businesses and organisations to maximise public safety and minimise the risk of public disorder from extreme individuals/groups intent on causing disruption through unlawful protests/campaigns.

The conference will be facilitated by colleagues from the Metropolitan Police and will focus on the current issues in Scotland around Extreme Right Wing, Animal Rights and Environmental individuals/groups.  There will also be inputs on the 'Insider Threat' and UK-based individuals who travel or show intent to travel overseas to fight against Daesh (ISIS).

The event will be held on Thursday 6th June 2019, between 09.00 - 15.00 at Scottish Fire & Rescue HQ, Westburn Drive, Cambuslang, Glasgow, G72 7NA.
