BSI Supply Chain Services and Solutions announced as headline sponsor of DIPS, Annual Conference.

BSI Supply Chain Services and Solutions is the leading global provider of supply chain intelligence, assessment management solutions, global auditing services, and risk management advisory services. Their mission is to help organisations identify, manage, and mitigate global supply chain threats and maintain world class compliance programs. BSI helps its clients drive performance, reduce risk, grow sustainably and improve organisational resiliency.

Since the result of the Referendum, the UK has been dealing with the challenges of leaving the EU and the changes that this may bring to the business environment in the future.

This topical conference, titled Brexit: Informing Scottish Business, Before and Beyond is aimed at any company or industry sector that imports or exports goods to and from the UK or who obtains raw materials from abroad and faces the uncertainty of how their business relations will differ at the conclusions of the negotiations. Article 50 will have been triggered, according to PM Teresa May, by the conference date, and this will be one of the first opportunities to consider, with some clarity, what contingencies will need to be considered during the negotiation phase and what the market place is going to look like at their conclusion.

The conference will take place on Wednesday 19th April 2017 at Hampden Park, National Football Stadium, Glasgow. Confirmed speakers include Yousef Hamza MSP, Minister for Transport, and Neil Amner, President of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the Scottish Chamber of Commerce Economic Advisory Group.

David Fairnie, BSI Principal Consultant Supply Chain Security EMEA, said: “BSI is delighted to partner with the Scottish Business Resilience Centre to sponsor the Distribution Industry Partnership Scotland’s “Brexit” conference. As supply chain resiliency experts BSI understands that, post Brexit, UK supply chain networks are likely to become more complex. The ability to quantify and mitigate supply chain risks will be paramount for organisations operating in new market environments. Organisations will need to identify critical risks to minimize disruption and help protect their global operational, financial and reputational exposures. This conference is extremely timely and topical.”

Stewart Hurry, DIPS Project Manager & Secure Transport, SBRC said: “The Distribution Industry Partnership Scotland are delighted to welcome the BSI as main sponsor of the 2017 conference. This association will ensure a high calibre event on a topic which will impact on businesses throughout the country and across many business sectors. We look forward to welcoming delegates and exhibitors to the event at Hampden on 19th April.”
