Operation Scandium targets metal theft in Edinburgh

The Scottish Business Resilience Centre, Police Scotland, SEPA, British Transport Police and HMRC took part in a multi agency Operation Scandium targeting metal theft in Edinburgh today.

Jim Scott, Metal Theft lead at the SBRC said, "The main aim of the day was to ensure that individuals who transport metal have the required licences to do so. Unfortunately one van was seized for not complying with the legislation. This shows that individuals are still prepared to carry on trading in metal regardless of the new legislation.

I would also like to thank Lothian Buses for allowing us to use their facilities".
