Cyber Scotland Week 2020

The Scottish Business Resilience Centre are delighted to be supporting Cyber Scotland Week 2020 from 17 - 23 February.

The action-packed week draws together events across Scotland to showcase the innovation taking place across the sector, while raising awareness of good cyber resilience practice and promoting a career within the industry.

Cyber Scotland Week will bring together influencers, experts and the next generation of talent to explore and learn about the innovation and challenges in this fast-changing threat landscape.

Here is a list of the events SBRC will be speaking at:

Monday 17 February: Cyber Risks Management in fintech - Talk to experts

About: SBRC will be joining with ScotlandIS, Quorum Cyber, BRIM and Net Defence for this free event to connect the fintech and cyber communities.

Tuesday 18 February: After the Attack

About: Hosted by Burness Paull LLP, SBRC will be speaking along with Quorum Cyber and CCRS Brokers at this breakfast seminar to provide practical and useful insight and guidance as to what steps you should take in the event of a cyber­attack or information security breach.

Tuesday 18 February: Cyber Resilience Workshop for Accountants

About: This free event will provide guidance to accountants on creating a cyber resilient business. This practical workshop will provide delegates with the tools to increase fundamental levels of cyber resilience, wherever you work from. Technology in the accountancy space is developing at a fast pace with an increasing number of organisations making use of cloud computing, automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Tuesday 18 February: Holyrood Connect Public Sector Cyber Security Conference

About: As a Key Partner in Cyber Scotland Week, Holyrood Connect present their 8th annual Public Sector Cyber Security conference.

You’ll have the chance to hear practical examples of best practice delivered from across the United Kingdom and abroad, plus you’ll have the chance to meet and network with colleagues from across the public sector as part of our high-energy interactive sessions.

Thursday 20 February: Cyber Security Breakfast Seminar

About: A free breakfast seminar hosted by MacRoberts, where attendees will hear from a Senior Ethical Hacker from the Scottish Business Resilience Centre, who will share their tips and experiences in the world of cyber security.

Thursday 20 February: Cyber Resilience Summit

About: Hosted by Illuminate IT, those who attend can find out how a range of Cyber, Technology, IT and Social Media experts can help your business in terms of both business continuity, communications and workplace recovery.

Friday 21 February: Cyber Resilience: Support for Rural Businesses Thurso Workshop

About: Businesses of all sizes and from all sectors based in the Caithness and Sutherland area are invited to join an engaging and informative cyber resilience workshop delivered by the cyber team from the Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC) and Cyber Security Scotland.

In the face of growing cyber threats, Eamonn Keane Head of Cyber Security and Innovation at SBRC will be briefing businesses on the most up-to-date cyber threat landscape and highlighting methods to improve cyber resilience.
