Signs of optimism among Scottish small businesses

This week the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) released a report showing a small improvement in Q2 trading this year, indicating that while there are still hard times ahead of us, businesses are maintaining their optimism.
In response, Business Minister Jamie Hepburn acknowledged that although "business confidence has improved, there is still much work to be done to repair the economic damage caused by the pandemic."
Commenting on the report, Jude McCorry, CEO of the Scottish Business Resilience Centre said:
"It's wonderful to see that Scottish SMEs are regaining confidence, but finding our feet in this new normal will take time and require help.
"SBRC and the Scottish Government have come together to form Scottish Business Cares and provide one-to-one support to Scottish organisations as we come out of lockdown. It's vital that we work together and support one another for the overall success of Scotland's businesses.
"Mentoring from business leaders and entrepreneurs with experience navigating economic crises will ensure businesses' ongoing viability, leading to improved economic success for Scotland and our small business community."
